York-based vehicle rental and leasing business Autohorn Fleet Service is targeting further growth from a new head office after its win at Insider’sGrowth 100 Awards last year.
Autohorn was established in 1995 and started with nine cars from its base in York. It now runs a fleet of more than 2,000 cars, serving business and individuals across the UK.
The company topped Insider’s 2018 ranking of the region’s 100 fast growing companies, and took home the Growth 100 Award at Insider’s 2018 Growth 100 Awards.
Managing director Lee Underwood told Insider: “Since the award win planning permission has been granted for our new head office and a team of experts have been put in place to deliver it.”
The company has previously secured 24 acres of land at Clifton Moor for the new facility and will relocate from its existing premises on Leeman Road, which sit on the proposed York Central development site.
Underwood highlighted a number of factors that had underpinned Autohorn’s growth leading up to last year’s Growth 100.
“Investing in our people was key,” he said, “as was the creation of a management team that had bespoke training and one-to-one coaching from Nita at Outcome Coaching.
“We also maintain good relationships with our key manufacturer partners and asset finance providers were also important and provide a totally flexible vehicle solution to our customers.”
Alongside the new head office, Autohorn has a number of plans in the pipeline to support future growth.
Underwood said: “We’re introducing a month-by-month insurance for car hire customers, a UK first. We’re also launching a subscription-based service for car hire.
“We’re also looking to introduce more innovation around Apps and how we can improve our customer journey.”
The 2019 Growth 100 list will be revealed in the upcoming August issue of the Yorkshire Business Insider . An invitation-only Growth 100 Awards Lunch will be held on 18 October 2019 at The Principal Met Hotel in Leeds.
